Redemption Roasters Coffee Packaging
Founded in 2015, Redemption Roasters is the world’s first prison-based
coffee company, with a mission to reduce reoffending rates in the UK.
From the initial briefing in early 2021, I led the collaborative effort to refresh
the coffee bag range, and align this new design direction with Redemption’s
core mission: to be bold and different in the way they think about offenders
and rehabilitation in the UK, and to stand apart from the rest of the speciality
coffee scene with their product.
The bag design was part of a wider project to develop Redemption’s branding,
which included changes to the look and feel of their shops, all printed assets,
social channels and an overhaul of the company website.
Additionally, a social and in-store campaign was created to launch the
new design. I commisioned a photographer to produce images for the
campaign, using both lifestyle shots and more abstract images using
3D versions of our assets as props. This campaign was created in
both video and still format, and I made various motion graphics
to sit alongside imagery on the website and email ads.
The project went live at the end of March 2022 and was well received.
